The Players are the humans that the players control. As wilds.io is an online multiplayer game, it is dependent on players playing the game. In the game there is an option to change your Gender allowing you to alter your physical appearance. The player has 2 seconds of invincibility after spawning as of 6/23/17.

As a player, you can:

  • Choose to play as a male or a female character.
  • Fight other players in several different game modes
  • Make and claim your own name.*
  • Create or join a Tribe.*
  • Pick up and use Items.
  • Buy and equip weapons, hats and shields in the Armory.*
  • Interact with other players, by either chatting or playing with them.
  • Choose which team to play on, after you die on the battlefield.
  • Become the King, if you are the player with the most bones. You will then be on the top of the In-Game Leaderboard.
  • Have a Special Icon next to your name, if you meet the requirements.

In Ruins, players can choose to be in either the Gray, Brown, or Black team. In Capture the Flag, players can only choose between the Gray and the Brown team.

In Soccer and in Arena, you are automatically assigned to a team, and you are not able to switch teams at all. Go to this page to learn more about the different game modes: Game Modes.

* These options are only available to players who log in with either Facebook, Google, Patreon, or Twitter. Players not signed in can't buy items, get coins, or join a tribe. The character has the default axe and a normal shield, and can't wear a hat. Signing in is highly recommended.

In Combat

Weapons are the main offense of a player. You will need your weapon to perform regular attacks, charged attacks, special attacks and to throw your weapon.

Players have various combat moves. The key to win a fight against an experienced player is to use every move strategically, and dodge, block or avoid the enemy's attacks.

The Players spawn in different areas of the map, depending on which team they are on. Teams have automatically assigned spawn points, including the renegade (black) team.

NOTE: The player's hitbox is the health indicator, not the actual player sprite.

Players will always drop something. Here is a list of what players can drop:

Cancelled Characters

Mage

Since there no longer are different characters or player models, there are a few characters that were planned, but later cancelled. Here they are:

Rezoner made a concept art for the mage, but as wilds.io evolved, and different player models were cancelled, he made the Ice Staff instead. He also made a concept art for the Shaman, which you can see at its page: Shaman.

Old Wilds.io Player Models

Wilds.io beginnings gives an insight into why wilds.io was created. The game has been in development for some time, and has changed a lot since it was first introduced; the old models of the players, for example. There were two classes in the old days:

Grunt

Old model - player

In the early wilds.io days, you got bigger in size the higher up you were on the in-game leaderboard.

The old Grunt model didn't have a shield, only an axe. Their colors were either Brown or Gray, depending on which team they were on. These axe-wielding warriors were the default fighters in the game.

Berserker

The Berserker was a class that you had to pay real money for to play as. This class was relatively overpowered, as it could hit knocked-down players, had faster attack speed, faster movement speed and better moves. The Berserker was added into the game later than the Grunt, but it is still one of the old player models.

The Berserker's special attack, whirlwind, is approximately the same as the Sword's special attack. The berserker also had its own unique attack which was the smash. The smash allowed you to hurt players who were on the ground. It also had a nerf to make it more balanced.
